Education

Texas’s Congressional District 35 is filled with many diverse school districts and is home to higher education institutions — including Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and Historically Black Universities (HBCUs). Thousands of students attend school in hopes of achieving their academic goals.
In Congress, I’m working for students by pushing for policies that increase funding for education at all levels, support our teachers and school staff, and ensure that every student can receive a high-quality education. We also must focus on investing in and supporting our teachers and school staff.
I support erasing student debt and making community colleges and public universities free. I am a proud co-sponsor of the College for All Act, which would make community colleges free and eliminate tuition and fees at public universities for those who make less than $125,000.
