LGBTQIA+ Equality
Everyone, regardless of race, sex, religion, or gender expression, deserves equal rights and protections. The rights of LGBTQIA+ folks are being attacked by extremists across the country, and as a Congress, we have a responsibility to ensure the safety and protection for all Americans.
As a proud member of the Equality Caucus, I know the path forward to protecting LGBTQIA+ Americans includes passing the Equality Act, which guarantees LGBTQIA+ individuals will not face discrimination based on their sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity with respect to businesses, employment, housing, federally funded programs, and other settings. I am also a proud co-sponsor of the Transgender Bill of Rights, which affirms that transgender people must have equal access to services including health care, shelter, and safety.
