Climate Crisis
The climate crisis is real. In Texas, we’ve seen the impacts first-hand: from Winter Storm Uri, to historic floods, to wildfires, and so much more. Texans have taken care of each other through these crises, but we can’t afford to rely on local and individual solutions any longer.
I’m a proud co-sponsor of the Green New Deal and similar legislation to create good union jobs in clean energy and protect communities harmed by pollution and natural disasters. Our country can and must take care of everyone along the way — from children to seniors to fossil fuel workers.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Greg Casar (D-Texas) announced he is actively drafting federal legislation to require Texas’s electrical grid, operated by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), to connect to the national grids.
VIA Metropolitan Transit has been awarded more than $3 million from the Federal Transit Administration under its Low or No Emission Vehicle Program. The grant will fund the replacement of 15 gasoline-powered paratransit vehicles with low-emission propane-powered vans.
