NEWS: Casar Responds to CBP Investigation of the Mass Shooting at Robb Elementary School

September 12, 2024

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Greg Casar (D-Texas) released the following statement in response to U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s findings of its investigation of the response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

“Nothing will bring back the Uvalde children, and teachers whose lives were stolen on May 24, 2022,” said Congressman Greg Casar (D-Texas). “Today’s report from U.S Customs and Border Protection and their commitment to action is a small step forward, but not enough. We must take action to prevent future mass shootings — ban assault weapons, expand background checks, and learn from these failures. If our society and laws do not change, then the unthinkable tragedy that came for Uvalde will one day befall each of us. Our children deserve to feel safe and protected, always.”

Last week, Casar visited with families in Uvalde and shared this post
